CLUB ACTIVITIES/ EXHIBITIONS

There are nine clubs actively functioning in KV Ashok Nagar under which activities were conducted periodically.

• Save energy Project

• Green School Project 

• Go Green Neighborhood 2013-14      

• Secured First position in Regional Level Youth Parliament Competition in 2013-14

• Organized various activities as Convener of UNESCO CLUB from 1993 to2003& 2007 and received merit certificate from United Schools organization of India, New Delhi in 1997, 1998, 2002 & 2007.

• Service projects done as National Service Scheme (NSS) Volunteer- 1984-87 Govt. Arts & Science College Calicut.

• Conducted KVS Regional Level Social Science Exhibition and Cultural programme at KV Ashok Nagar 2012-13.

• Conducted activities for Inter Act Club with the help of Rotary Club from 2012 to 2014 at KV Ashoknagar.

• Organized Inspire Award Exhibition at Regional Level on for  KVS RO Chennai .

• As a convener, Organized Cluster level and Regional level Social Science Exhibition and cultural programme for the year 1999-2000, KV AFS Avadi, Chennai & for the year 2003-04, KV Madurai.

• Planting of saplings for the beautification and a forestation of Kendriya Vidyalaya was undertaken.

•  Prepared projects, models and organized cultural programmes for Social science Exhibition from 1993 at various levels.

• The school has been the venue for conducting cluster level competitions in social science

GUIDANCE COUNSELING

• Successfully completed Certificate in guidance conducted by IGNOU in June 2013 with 99.96% shows the interest in this subject.

• Awakened Citizen Program was started for class VII in the year 2016.

• Presently working as a counselor for the training program organized by KVS &IGNOU known as CPPDPT for PRTs at KV Minambakkam, Chennai.

• Carreer Guidance and Counseling programme – Motivation camp 2001 for Class X & XII.KVAFS AVADI

 LIFE SKILLS

• Has received recognition from Indian Development Foundation (Mumbai) for outstanding participation in Health awareness, resource mobilization and human services, 2012 & 2016.

• Extended help to Help Age India for extending consistent support of the students for the Students Value Education Programme (SAVE) 2012 to 14 which has enabled the students to get a glimpse of the hitches faced by the elderly people.

• Eco-friendly activates- plantations, Awareness programme, Youth Parliament programme, safe energy and waste management have also been undertaken etc.

• Conducted a work shop on Life skills development from 26th to 30th March 2008.

• As a part green neighborhood 2013-14 planted saplings in the neighborhood area near KV Ashok Nagar and also developed a garden in CPWD.

• The fund raising, US$13000, the charitable trust India Women Association, Moscow.

• Participated in coastal cleanup day conducted at Jakhau on 2nd October 2010.

• Rendered service to cancer patients and was appreciated by CPAIDS, Mumbai on 31/1/2011.

• To crown it all, relief work was undertaken to help to victims of flood in the worst hit areas of Jafferkhanpet and MGR Nagar 2015.

• A Rally on Road Safety was undertaken to create awareness on Traffic Rules.

Technology Aided Teaching:

• Participated in “Partners in Learning teachers Training program” conducted by Microsoft. (9 Days in 2007) KV,NDA, Pune

• Introduced Foundation of Information Technology (FIT) in classes IX and X session 2010-15 in KV Naliya & Ashoknagar, also secured 100% quality result.

NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) :

• This Vidyalaya is an active Model Accreditation Institute for NIOS which provides open schooling for those who cannot continue their regular school education in their life span.

• In the session 2015 – 16, our Vidyalaya provided support to 250 students in each semester in Class X & XII. Apart from new admissions, we conducted Personal Contact Programs (PCPs), counseling sessions, Practical classes and exams throughout the session.

• Shaala Darpan : This Vidyalaya was the venue for KVS Shaala Darpan workshop for the KVs in Central zone under the Digital India program.

Regional Level ICT Tech Fest ‘15 :

Under the KVS RO ICT project, the Regional KVS ICT Tech Fest’15 was celebrated at KV Ashok Nagar on 07.08.2015. The final round of various ICT competitions was conducted and Prizes given to winners.

KVASN Technovate Fest ‘15:

As an innovative program, Vidyalaya level ICT competitions were conducted for Class 6 to 8 students to enhance their ICT skills. Lot of children enthusiastically participated and won prizes.

KVS RO ICT Project Award – 2016 :

• To felicitate teachers who have done innovation by integrating ICT in their teaching learning process, KVS ICT Project Award was conducted at Regional Level.

• In the Award Ceremony the ICT Logo was unveiled and a website named “ilearners.tech” for providing online support of educational resources was inaugurated.

KVASN COMPTECH FEST ‘16:

As an innovative program, Vidyalaya level ICT competitions were conducted for Class 6 to 11 students to enhance their ICT skills. Lot of children enthusiastically participated and won prizes.

ISSC COUNCIL

An ISSC Council was formed in the vidyalaya consisting of 150 students for the maintenance of ICT equipments in the vidyalaya. This was one of the innovative practices in the history of KVS.

GUIDANCE FOR TEACHER'S ACHIEVEMENT

• Mrs. Shanthi TGT English, was awarded with National ICT Award for her classroom innovation and experimentation.

• Mr. K.P. Ibrahim Khan TGT Hindi, was awarded with KVS National Incentive award for his services towards promotion of Hindi Language.

• Mrs. Shanthi TGT English, was awarded with KVS National Incentive award for his services towards promotion of English Language.

• Mr. K.P. Ibrahim Khan TGT Hindi, was awarded with GRABS Award for his services towards education.

• Mr. R. Praveen  Comp. Inst. won KVS Regional ICT Project Award 2015-16.

• Mrs. Karthiga Comp. Instr  won KVS Regional ICT Project Award 2016-17.

• Mrs. Shanthi was awarded by ELTAI HORNBY for her lesson plan in secondary level.

CONFERENCE ATTENDED AND RESEARCH PAPERS PRESENTED

• Principal’s Conference (As an officiating Principal for KV Tengavally), at KV, IOC, Noonmati, Guwahati - 29th& 30th November 1995 and Presented a Paper on Role of Library in promoting Love and Respect for Indian Culture.

• Presented a Paper Colonial Settlement in Malabar under Bombay Presidency in South Indian History Congress – XIX session 24-26 January 1999.

• Indian History Congress: Diamond Jubilee session, Calicut University, Dec.28-30, 1999. Presented a paper-Land Revenue System & Agrarian Relations in Malabar.

• VIII Annual session Tamil Nadu History Congress 13th& 14th October 2001 at University of Madras, Chennai

• Participated as a delegate and member of the organizing committee- Association of Third World Studies – South Asia Chapter Annual Conference held at CP Ramaswamy Iyer foundation, Chennai – 600 018 from 23rd& 24th March 2002.

• Attended the seminar on writing History held at The C P R Iyer Foundation Chennai on January 11th 2003

• Presented a paper entitled ‘Trade and Finance in Malabar’, in ‘South Indian History Congress XXIII session – 31st January to 2nd February 2003 at St. Joseph College, Trichirappalli

• Presented a paper at the Indian History Congress 64th session, December 28th to 30th, 2003 at Mysore University, Mysore
